Privacy Policy
What the Brewd app collects, who else sees it, and what you control.
Effective November 5, 2026. Brewd is made by Brewd Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"). This explains what Brewd collects, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address and password, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase).
- Profile info: your display name, username, and profile photo, if you add them.
- Coffee logs: the coffee, rating, shop, photo, notes, and price you choose to log. Only the log itself is required; the rest is optional.
- Activity: who you follow, likes, and the reports and blocks you make.
- Location: only when you allow it, to sort nearby coffee shops, tag a shop by location, or show where you are on the map. Coordinates are used for that search and are not saved to your profile. Recent shop selections are kept on your device.
- Purchases: if you subscribe to Brewd Plus, Apple processes the payment and we receive whether your subscription is active. We never see your card details.
- Photos and camera: Brewd asks to use your camera or photo library only to add a coffee photo, a profile photo or a shop photo, and to save a card you choose to share.
What we don’t do
Brewd doesn’t show ads, doesn’t use advertising or tracking SDKs, doesn’t use analytics services, and doesn’t sell your data to anyone.
Who sees what in Brewd
- Your coffee logs and their photos are visible only to you and people you follow who follow you back.
- If you tag a shop, that shop’s owner can see that a coffee was logged there and its rating, and who logged it, unless you switch on Anonymous for that log. Shop pages show totals and averages, not your name.
- Your display name, username, profile photo and follower counts can be found by other Brewd users.
- You can block anyone from their profile; blocked people can’t see you or your logs.
Who else handles your data
- Supabase hosts our database, sign-in, and photo storage.
- OpenAI’s moderation service may check photos you upload for content that isn’t allowed in Brewd. Its answer decides whether the photo stays; see OpenAI’s privacy policy for how it handles what it receives.
- Searching for shops goes through a Supabase server function that asks a map-data search service (currently OpenStreetMap-based) to find places. That service receives your search text and, when available, coordinates or the city you enter. Your Brewd account identity is not sent to it.
- The map on Explore is Apple Maps. To draw it, Apple receives the part of the map your screen is showing and, if you allow location, your approximate position (see Apple’s privacy policy). The shop pins come from Brewd’s own directory; nothing from Apple Maps is saved in your Brewd account.
- Brewd Plus is bought through Apple. RevenueCat, a subscription service, receives an identifier tied to your Brewd account to confirm whether your subscription is active.
- Resend sends emails such as invitations and sign-up confirmations; Supabase sends password and sign-in emails.
- If we are required to by law, or to protect people from harm, we may share information with the authorities.
Reports and safety
You can report any coffee log or profile. We keep reports, who made them, and what we did about them, and we may look at the reported content to decide. Photos may be scanned automatically for content that breaks the rules.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete an individual coffee log from your Passport calendar at any time. You can permanently delete your account from Settings: that removes your profile, logs, follows, likes, uploaded photos and other data tied to your account, and it can’t be undone. To ask for a copy of your data or a correction, email us at the address below.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and the database is set up so that people can only read data they are meant to see. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password and don’t reuse it.
Children
Brewd isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has made an account, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change how Brewd uses data, we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
